This Privacy Policy explains how Doc Luma ("Doc Luma," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our app, website, and related services.
Information we collect
- Documents and files: Doc Luma helps you scan, import, clean, preview, save, and share PDFs and images. For the MVP, your documents are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Doc Luma servers for PDF processing.
- Usage information: app interactions, feature usage, app version, approximate session activity, and anonymous event data used to understand app health and improve the product.
- Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, anonymous install identifier, crash logs, diagnostics, performance data, IP address, and similar technical information.
- Support information: messages and contact details you choose to send when requesting help.
- Advertising information: Doc Luma may show non-interruptive banner ads. Advertising partners may receive or process identifiers and device information as described in their own policies and platform disclosures.
Doc Luma does not require end-user accounts, usernames, passwords, or login credentials for the MVP.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, debug, and improve Doc Luma.
- Create, clean, organize, preview, save, and share PDFs using app features.
- Analyze app performance, crashes, reliability, and feature usage.
- Respond to support, safety, privacy, and data deletion requests.
- Show and measure non-interruptive banner ads where enabled.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers: hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email, support, security, and infrastructure providers.
- Advertising partners: providers that help deliver and measure ads, subject to platform rules and applicable law.
- Legal and safety parties: when required by law or when needed to protect users, Doc Luma, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Doc Luma is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of the word.
Document privacy
Doc Luma is designed for local PDF workflows. Your scanned pages, imported images, and PDFs remain on your device unless you choose to share, export, back up, or send them using device features or third-party apps.
Data retention
Documents saved by the app remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app, subject to your device backup/settings. Analytics, diagnostic, and support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to operate, improve, secure, and support Doc Luma, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain backups.
Your choices and rights
- Delete PDFs and app data from within the app or your device settings.
- Manage camera, photo, file, and notification permissions in your device settings.
- Request deletion of anonymous device-linked analytics or support data through our data deletion page.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or portability where applicable law provides those rights.
Children
Doc Luma is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International users
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These locations may have data protection laws different from where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
